Challenge:
In 2008, I was tasked with expanding the Revolver brand beyond its print edition, as the magazine was on the verge of folding. I created and conceptualized this event from the ground up, including the business plans, sponsorships sales, talent acquisition, venue procurement, securing broadcast partners and all creative decisions. The Golden Gods would go on to singlehandedly revive the Revolver brand and today garners over 3 million fan-votes as well as generate nearly $2 million in revenue since it’s inception.
The Event:
The Revolver Golden Gods takes place every April in Los Angeles and is America’s only hard rock & heavy metal awards show. Recently celebrating it’s 5th successful year, The Revolver Golden Gods Awards airs globally via XBOX, AXS TV, Sirius/XM and Facebook and reaches over 100 million viewers. Past shows have included performances and appearances by Metallica, Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Dave Grohl, Mötley Crüe, Gene Simmons, Marilyn Manson, Johnny Depp, ZZ Top, Jack Black, Ronnie James Dio, Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper, Mötorhead, Slash, Sebastian Bach, Alice in Chains, Dee Snider, William Shatner, Slipknot, Chris Jericho, Dave Navarro, Shaun White and many more. Golden Gods sponsors have included Harley-Davidson, Rockstar Energy Drink, Epiphone Guitars, Marshall Amps, Lionsgate Films, Honda, Affliction and XBOX.
