Challenge:
After the success of the annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards, I was tasked with building a new franchise and created a sister-event to add to the Revolver/Guitar World portfolio. I conceptualized and launched the Rock & Roll Roast comedy series, which airs annually in partnership with AXS TV every January.
The Event:
The second-annual Rock & Roll Roast honored Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider and had famed magician, Penn Gilette serve as the “Roastmaster” alongside a celebrity dais that included Donald Trump, Alice Cooper, Jim Norton, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Eddie Trunk, Sebastian Bach and Lita Ford.
Sponsorships sales included Epiphone Guitars, Marshall Amplification, Monster Energy Drink, School of Rock and Eagle Rock Entertainment. It was an incredible night of comedy, calamity –and most importantly charity, as funds were raised for MusiCares, which helps musicians in crisis.
