LAUNCH PROJECT

The Challenge:
Creating an all-star salute to some of the most crucial artists that we have lost over the past few years (Lemmy Kilmister, David Bowie, Prince, Dimebag Darrell) during the annual NAMM Convention in Anaheim, CA. This was the first-ever live stream conducted by Loudwire’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

The Event:
The first-ever “Tribute to the Fallen Heroes of Heavy Metal” featured the Metal Allegiance performing over 20 classic songs honoring the fallen heroes of hard rock and heavy metal. Special guests included members of Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Exodus, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead, Suicide Silence and the Butcher Babies.

This first-ever Loudwire livestream resulted in over 450,000 viewers over a 24 hour period, exceeding all expectations.

Sponsorships sales included Fender/Jackson Guitars, Monster Energy Drink, Musicians Institute and Nuclear Blast Records. It was an incredible night that gathered together many metal legends to salute the great heroes who are no longer with us.

Testimonials:
“Metal Allegiance gave NAMM fans a real headbanger’s ball.”
—OC Weekly

“So excited to be joining my friends in METAL ALLEGIANCE for their ‘fallen heroes’ tribute in Anaheim this year! I’ll get up for a few songs and we’ll have a fabulous night of incredible music!”
—Billy Sheehan

“A METAL ALLEGIANCE show is always a great time for us and the audience, but nothing quite compares to when it happens in Anaheim during the month of January. It becomes a very big event and with so many friends in town, we’re able to have a unique combination of musicians that would be very difficult to pull together otherwise. This will be the first time we play our originals in Anaheim and the first time we do specific dedications to our Fallen Heroes.”
—Alex Skolnick
